It’s that time of the year to enjoy the chill in the air! This week South Shore had some wonderful and exciting things happening. The community volunteered their time and resources to bring some joy to our students this winter season.
On Thursday, December 19, South Shore had Family Game Night. The staff brought in their favorite board games to play with students and their families. The games ranged from Loteria and Uno to life-size Candy Land and Jenga.
On Friday, December 20th, every student received a board game. Thanks to Hasbro, who gave special pricing, South Shore was able to purchase a game for every student. Volunteers from Hewlett Packard also came in to share a cookie and a story with our students. A recycling center in Millersburg also provided every student with a surprise goodie bag. Every student also received painted rocks from Linn Co. Rocks delivered by West Albany Community transitional Program.
We have such a gracious and giving community and South Shore would like to extend their heartfelt THANKS!

¡Es la época del año donde se disfruta el frio! Esta semana en South Shore han pasado muchas cosas emocionantes y maravillas. Nuestra comunidad ha voluntariado su tiempo y recursos para traer alegría a esta temporada de invierno.
El jueves 19 de diciembre, tuvimos nuestra primera noche de juegos en familia. El personal trajo sus juegos favoritos de mesa para jugar con los estudiantes y sus familias. Los juegos abarcaron de Lotería y UNO, hasta un juego en tamaño real de Candy Land y Jenga.
El viernes 20 de diciembre todos los estudiantes recibieron juego de mesa a cada estudiante. Gracias a Hasbro, que nos dio un precio especial, se compró un juego para cada estudiante. Voluntarios de Hewlett Packard estuvieron dando galletas y leyeron una historia a los estudiantes. Un Centro de reciclaje en Millersburg dio una bolsita a cada estudiante. Cada estudiante también recibió una piedra pintada por Linn County Rocks y fueron entregadas por el programa Transicional de Comunidad de West Albany.
