Hi! I am Mrs. Guillen. I am a bilingual kinder teacher here at South Shore Elementary.

I enjoy reading non-fiction books, spending time with family and visiting Mexico. My favorite flowers are calla lilies and hydrangeas.

I was born and raised in Lima – Peru. In 2004, I moved to the U.S. to study for my bachelor’s degree. In 2008, I graduated with honors from The University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign obtaining a B.S. in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Foreign Language – Spanish.

This will be my second year teaching at South Shore Elementary. Previously, I taught for 5 years in a Bilingual International School.

My family and I enjoy the outdoor life and are thrilled to be part of the community!

Hello! I am Maestra Wright and my pronouns are she/her/ella. This will be my first year as a 2nd grade teacher after graduating from Oregon State University through the district’s Grow Your Own Program. I was previously an SEA here at South Shore and love the atmosphere of love here, where everyone is a part of my extended family. I love any kind of watersports and will do my best to be out on or near the water on my time off with my family which includes my fiancé Zach and my 4 year old son River.

I am Maestra Aguilar,  the third grade Spanish teacher.    I have been teaching at South Shore for 9 years. I enjoy spending time with my grandkids,  taking pictures, and music.  If you walk into my classroom,  you will find bright colors, sparkly things and Frida Kahlo art.

I´m Ms. Powell! I’m from Corvallis, Oregon but I lived in Spain for 4 years. Now I live in Albany with my fiance and our two dogs, plus some chickens! I love dark chocolate, coffee, and books. I also enjoy outdoor activities like running and camping. This is my seventh year as a 4th grade teacher at South Shore!

Hello! I am Mrs. Hubbard. I am one of the 5th grade teachers at South Shore. I am in my first full year as a teacher but have been a part of the district for 4 years. I have 3 kids and a dog! I love exploring the outdoors with my family, reading, and sports.

Greetings! I am Mrs. Townsend, and I am the Instructional Coach at South Shore.
I have been at South Shore for 28 years, and I love a challenge!
My favorite teaching memories are celebrating with students for realizing their successes, both big and small.
I have 14 grandchildren, and my happy spot is spending time with them and helping them make special connections with each other!

Hi. My name is Erin Monroe. I am delighted to be working at South Shore Elementary School. I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Elementary Education from Western Oregon University, and went on to get my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University. While in college, I was able to study abroad in Oviedo, Spain for a semester and teach in Guadalajara, Mexico for a semester. I am currently certified in Early Childhood/Elementary Education with a SEI endorsement. Some of my favorite hobbies include yoga, hiking, reading, and swimming. In my free time I love going on adventures with my two daughters (ages 9 and 11).

Hello! I am Mrs. Hogan and I am the speech-language pathologist at South Shore. I speak both Spanish and English, and I am so happy to be working with so many dual-language students and staff. I love traveling, hiking, and am currently trying to improve my watercolor skills.

I am Mrs. Ritchey and this is my 23rd year teaching music at South Shore. Besides teaching music, I also teach orchestra classes throughout the year and direct a musical in the spring. I love running, hiking, writing music and spending time with my family. I also love travelling to many places in the summer.

Hi!  I’m Mrs. Stanfield the PE teacher.  This is my 17th year of teaching.  I have 2 boys and a girl.  My husband is also a PE teacher at Sunrise Elementary.  We are a sports family and love to play games outside.  My favorite is Pickleball!  I am excited to teach and play more games this year!
