A group of 5th graders presented their planet powerpoints in Spanish to the school board on Monday, March 13th. They did a great job representing South Shore. We are so proud of them.

Un grupo de estudiantes de quinto grado presentaron sus proyectos sobre los planetas al consejo escolar el lunes, 13 de marzo. Hicieron un gran trabajo representando a South Shore. Estamos muy orgullosos de ellos.

In celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday and Read Across America, we had a Seuss character dress-up day in 1st grade. We will also be celebrating reading for the next month by dressing up in different costumes on each Friday. Here is the schedule for the next few weeks:

• Crazy Hat Day – 3/3
• Crazy Socks – 3/10
• Dress up as your favorite book character – 3/17
• Crazy Hair – 3/24

It’s going to be tons of fun!

South Shore Music Programs/ Concierto Musical

The 2-4 grade musical is Feb 28 @ 6:30- students arrive at 6:15 to line up. They will be performing a bilingual musical entitled, “This is where I live.” The students have written the script and it is a musical about character traits such as: courtesy, respect and honesty.

Estudiantes de 2do – 4to grado tienen su concierto de música el 28 de febrero, favor de llegar a las 6:15 pm para ponerse en fila con su clase. Los estudiantes estarán cantando canciones en inglés y español. Le tema del concierto es acerca de las características de los estudiantes como, respecto, cortesía, y honestidad.

The Kinder – 1st grade muscial will be on March 7th @ 6:30pm. They will be performing “Seussical”, a musical review about several Dr.Seuss books. Students arrive at 6:15pm to line up.

El concierto musical de Kinder y primer grado sera el 7 de marzo alas 6:30 pm llamado “Seussical”. Estarán cantando canciones sobre los diferentes libros de Dr.Seuss. Estudiantes favor de llegar a las 6:15 pm, para ponerse en fila con su clase.

The 5th grade musical is, “Discovery, ” It will be performed on March 9 @ 6:30. Students arrive at 6:15pm. They will be singing several songs on how our lives are an adventure and how we can discover so many things when we put on our thinking caps and are motivated to learn

El concierto musical de 5to grado es “Discovery”, y sera el 9 de marzo a las 6:30 pm. Estudiantes favor de llegar a las 6:15 pm. Estarán cantando canciones sobre las aventuras de su vida y como pueden descubrir tantas cosas cuando ponen empeño en su aprendizaje.

Our pancake breakfast was a huge success and we served more than 350 plates of pancakes, eggs, and sausage. While the food was great, the highlight of the event was eating breakfast while our South Shore Orchestra played in the background.
